The Waltz

1.How does the structure of alternating monologues develop humor in the text?
The structure of alternating monologues develops humor in the text because you are able know what she’s thinking versus what she is willing to share and they split “personalities” I guess you could say.

2.What truths about social relationships does Parker illuminate through the use of interior and exterior monologues in “The Waltz”?
The truth that the author illuminates or reveals through the use of interior and exterior monologue would be that you never can truly know what someone is thinking. For example if you read the woman’s inner thoughts and then her public conversation you can see she presents her self totally different than what she would imagine saying.

  1. Good job explaining how you thought of the alternating monologues. Next time, elaborate more on why you think she separated her actual thoughts for her public lies.
